Addicted to travel and adventure. Addicted to movement and challenging my mental and physical limits. Bored of years spent sitting on the couch and wasting time, watching people on a screen do the things I wish I could. I’m going to do them instead!

I’m Ryan! A half Filipino, half Scottish 29 year old who moved up to the Lake District a few years ago to fuel a passion and drive for the outdoors. Soon after I became obsessed with running. The most pure, exciting and primal form of movement and exploration I have ever known. Before long I had progressed on to ultra marathons as well as shorter fell and trail races. I believe there is no race I cannot finish given the time and dedication. The longer and harder the better. I want expedition style, long distance races and ultra-marathons all over the world that truly scare me. I believe exactly the same potential and rule applies to you. Commit, train, achieve.

I want to see the world. I want to experience culture, language, food, people. I want to explore the outdoors in every climate and run, hike and camp whilst I do so. I enjoy traveling solo, it enhances the feeling of independence and adventure for me. And I’m rarely lonely on them, this world is full of lovely humans! So far I have been lucky to travel in some great places, near and far. India, Nepal, Romania and the Philippines to name a few. I fully intend to go everywhere and feel lucky to be able to do so.

In between training, work and travels I’m normally found in a pub or cafe. Reading, relaxing or staring at maps and planning! Otherwise I’ll be outdoors either running, mountain biking, kayaking or just getting lost.

I hope to encourage people to chase ambitions, travel, embrace the outdoors and get out of their comfort zones with a smile on their face. And this blog is a part of my decision in doing that, sharing my travels, experiences and races.
